above is a copy of my first part of my preliminary task. we were asked to create a simple front cover for a magazine all about college life.

the cover was made entirely in adobe photoshop. first i took the picture of the student you see, and then uploaded it into photoshop. once here, i added the masthead and then added the text you see around the page. 

i simply named the magazine college times as that is basically what it is! the main story on the cover is the one about the media department achieving there best media results to date. other than this, there is news about the football team and also the rest of as results. 

above is the other part of my preliminary task, my content page mock up. i went for a simple approach to this. I will have a title in the top left corner, and then a kind of preview in the top right around a paragraph long. under neath this i will then have a the actual contents for the magazine. then to the left in the free space i will have one large image of the main feature of the particular issue, and then underneath around one or two sentances. underneath this i will then have 4 boxes all with images in , with 4 of the other things that will be in that issue. these will have the page no inside them also.
