here i go again on my own!!
I have decided to go with the print based project for a couple of reasons, the first of these is most likely the main one. I very interested in Graphics and Photography, and take both at A level, and as this project combines the two it is ideal for me. The other reason is the fact that i love music, so these two reasons are basically why i have chosen to do this. My initial ideas for the music magazine were between the genre, which would i choose? The two i have to decide from are Indie Rock, and heavy metal. The reason for the indie choice is because i know several people who are indie bands, so these would make it easier for me when i have to photograph a band for my project. The reason for the other option, Heavy Metal, is because my brother is in a band, which like the indie option, makes it easy for me to be able to get photographs. I am yet to decide which one i choose, although the heavy metal option is looking more likely at this stage.
Magazines which are already in circulation, and who target these genres would be your, NME's, Kerrang!'s and Metal Hammer. Over the coming weeks i will be studying magazines like this for research, so that i can get a idea of what kind of designs these magazines actually use.
Thankfully i already have experience using a digital camera, as i do with the software i will be using (Photoshop & InDesign etc) and due to this, i can hopefully produce a top class magazine, due to its content and design.
